Film producer as a PM:

Effective leadership from concept to premiere

This presentation dives into project management in independent filmmaking,
where quality is measured on a creative as much as a technical scale by
different parties, and where team dynamics and roadblocks are changing and
surprising variables. Going from the film's concept to premiere and beyond,
we'll see each phase of a production, the good, the bad, and the crazy that
has come up in past projects, and how a producer can creatively and
effectively manage a film through its complete life cycle on a limited
budget and schedule.

Timo Puolitaipale

A film & transmedia producer with project management experience across
multiple platforms and a graduate of the National Screen Institute's
Features First Program, Timo has developed and produced short and feature
films with Movie Central, Manitoba Film & Music, BC Film and the DGC, most
recently the award-winning short film "Death Wish", and "Monster", in
post-production. In transmedia, he has produced the web series "Radio Free
Krakow", the Telefilm-funded web series "Cubicle Land" for Original
Pictures, and the CBC Development Lab web series "ComaState".
